Cheniere supports the next generation of LNG professionals through partnerships with local universities and student organizations.
Working with engineering programs at Lamar University, McNeese State University, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and Texas A&M University-Kingsville, Cheniere helped establish student energy clubs that connect students with engineers, mentors and internship opportunities.
The initiative began in 2021, when Cheniere’s local team conducted informal outreach with students and faculty to better understand awareness of LNG career opportunities. Interest was strong, leading to the creation of the first Cardinal Energy Club at Lamar University in 2022.
Through these clubs, students participate in technical discussions, networking events and career preparation programs with Cheniere employees. Internship opportunities are also offered to club members. We recently expanded our support with a $100,000 donation to McNeese State to establish a new postgraduate certificate in the LNG Engineering program at the school's new LNG Center of Excellence.
