Cheniere hosted U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright on Feb. 26 at its Corpus Christi Liquefaction facility in Texas, where he signed an export authorization for the CCL Midscale Trains 8 & 9 Project.

More than 200 Cheniere employees were on hand to greet Secretary Wright, who also toured the world-class facility with Cheniere President and CEO Jack Fusco and other company leaders.

“It’s our 10-year anniversary from our first export, and we’re very fortunate to have the support of the administration and Secretary Wright to come out here and help us celebrate,” Fusco said.

Secretary Wright thanked Cheniere’s skilled and dedicated workforce for the crucial role they play every single day in unleashing American energy and driving economic growth – at home and around the world.

“Every new train you build, every train you operate safely and carefully every day, you are (improving) the lives of people around the world,” Secretary Wright said.

Secretary Wright signed the export authorization for CCL Midscale Trains 8 & 9 Project on a desk in front of CCL employees, enabling more Cheniere-produced LNG to reach countries and customers around the world for decades to come.

He highlighted the importance of natural gas and LNG for decades to come, telling the CCL workforce they are at the heart of the most important and fastest-growing energy source.

“You work in our future, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart,” Secretary Wright said. “This is the core of making our country great again, and of making the world safe and prosperous.”
