Community Development Program

Cheniere in the Community

We invested more than $2.4 million in 2018 and gave over $50,000 of in-kind donations to benefit various organizations. The Foundation’s community investment priorities in 2018 focused on three areas: developing leaders, strengthening communities, and protecting our environment.

We align our investment and volunteer priorities with the needs of our communities. Through our stakeholder engagements, we seek to better understand our communities’ current and future needs. This helps directly inform our social investment strategy and tailor our approach to the unique needs of each community.

Craft Development Program

Cheniere’s Craft Development Program is a workforce development program tailored to produce the highly skilled welders needed to support ongoing construction in the Gulf Coast and Coastal Bend regions. The program is designed for graduating high school students with welding experience and transitioning military veterans. The program is executed through strategic partnerships with three community colleges, over 20 high schools, and one U.S. Army base. By investing in the education of our students and veterans on the Gulf Coast, Cheniere ensures that the workforce of tomorrow can take advantage of the job opportunities of the future.
