Cheniere and its employees pledged over $700,000 toward Texas Hill Country recovery efforts after devastating floods impacted the area in July.
Cheniere employees alone raised nearly $220,000 via monetary donations and matching gifts. The contributions build on the $500,000 pledge Cheniere made to local first responders and community organizations involved in recovery efforts.
“Thank you to everyone who contributed and helped us support the search and rescue missions and recovery efforts,” said Jack Fusco, Cheniere’s President and CEO. “I am grateful for your generosity and the impact that it will have in helping Texas Hill Country communities recover from this devastating event.”
Cheniere was one of the first companies to support on-the-ground recovery and support efforts. The company’s $500,000 pledge included organizations such as Texas Search and Rescue (TEXSAR), Ark of Highland Lakes Crisis Center, Hill Country Community Foundation, OneStar Foundation, United Cajun Navy and four local volunteer fire departments.
Cheniere also donated supplies and office furniture to the Ark of Highland Lakes, a non-profit organization based in Marble Falls, Texas, to conduct case management for flood victims.
Catastrophic flooding in the Texas Hill Country in early July claimed at least 135 lives and billions of dollars in damage and economic costs.
