Cheniere understands the importance of medical care and health education to communities, so we partner with local leaders and national organizations to identify high-impact areas for support.
In September 2008, we dedicated the Johnson Bayou Rural Health Clinic to the community, a healthcare clinic that will provide preventative care and minor emergency treatment and dentistry to the community's residents. This will be the only medical care facility in the area, due to the devastation caused by Hurricane Rita.
Cheniere sponsored the Making Cancer History Team, benefiting MD Anderson Cancer Center during the 2005 - 2009 Race Across America. Created in 1982, the Race Across America (RAAM) is now the longest running ultra-distance bicycle endurance competition in the world. Cyclists compete across the 3000 miles between both U.S. coasts, while battling extreme and varied terrain.
